Where the time comes from

Each clock renders your own device's current instant in that city's zone, using the time zone database built into your browser. No request is made to our servers.

Each clock is rendered with the browser's own copy of the IANA time zone database, which is updated with the browser itself. If a country changes its rules, the clocks here follow as soon as that update reaches your device — there is no offset table on our side to go stale.
